#FlashPhilanthropy

Mid-December, as a way to show customer appreciation, TGP Warehouse Market hosts a staff, friends and family shopping night. Typically, shoppers are invited to bid on silent auction items throughout the evening in support of a local not-for-profit and there are always fantastic deals going into the Christmas season. Held on December 9th, this year's event was in support of Edmonton's Food Bank.

Inspired by an initiative organized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals on National Philanthropy Day, TGP Warehouse Market took the shopping night one step further by raising awareness through #FlashPhilanthropy.

Every customer was invited to fill a food hamper with items generously donated by TGP suppliers. TGP's Marketing and Procurement Director, Judy Jackiw commented that "it was a bit touch-and-go at the start--but, once our shoppers realized that we were building food hampers for the food bank, it picked up momentum." Adding that "one youngster even took it upon himself to fill baskets until his mother finished shopping."

In total, TGP Warehouse Market raised $4800 and donated five pallets filled with food hampers.

A huge thank you to TGP suppliers, Mondelez, ConAgra, Nestlé, Unilever, Kraft Heinz, Mrs. Palmers, Acosta Bush Brothers, Lassonde, and Campbell's, for providing the hamper items and to everyone that participated!

Many hands, make light work.
