In support of the families impacted by the Fort McMurray fires, TGP presented a $10,000 cheque to the Shelley Braiden, a Red Cross representative on June 21, 2016.

According to Michael Carter, the Manager at TGP Ottewell, “within hours of the evacuation, customers were asking how they could donate. Our community is just build that way—it never ceases to amaze me.”

TGP’s community stores and the Warehouse Market were quick to start collecting donations. Shoppers had the opportunity to round-up their purchases in support of Red Cross and each location held a BBQ fundraiser. In order to reach the $10,000 mark, the stores helped match the difference.

Braiden from the Red Cross shared that with the re-entry, “some families don’t have anything to go back to, and that’s a hard reality to face.” She sincerely thanked TGP for the donation and emphasized just how important community contribution is to the Red Cross.

To our communities and Alberta, thank you!
